Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Selenity Teknoloji ("we", "Company") processes personal data of users of the Lingua mobile application ("App").

1. Data We Collect

Device identifier: An anonymous device-specific identifier is generated for subscription management. It is not linked to any personal information.

In-app data: Your learning progress, completed scenes, quiz answers and vocabulary progress are stored only on your device in a SQLite database. These are not sent to our servers.

Microphone access: In the speech practice feature, your voice is used solely to convert speech to text. Audio is not recorded or stored and is never sent to our servers. Speech-to-text conversion happens on-device using Apple or Google's built-in speech recognition.

Conversation practice (Premium): Premium subscribers can engage in AI dialogue. Your written messages are sent to Google Gemini API to generate responses; no persistent storage on our side.

Subscription data: Your subscription status is managed by Apple App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat infrastructure tracks subscription state; your billing information or credit card never reaches our systems.

2. How We Use Data

• Provide core app functionality (learning flow, progress tracking)
• Validate premium subscription status and grant premium access
• Generate AI responses for the conversation practice feature
• Crash and error diagnostics (anonymous technical data only)

3. Third Parties

• Apple App Store / Google Play: For subscription transactions (device identifier, purchase records)
• RevenueCat: Cross-platform subscription tracking (anonymous device ID, subscription state) — RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Google Gemini API: Only when premium users use the conversation feature, the message text they send (no persistent storage) — Google Privacy Policy

We do not sell your data to advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

• On-device data: Retained until you uninstall the app. Removal upon uninstall.
• RevenueCat subscription record: Retained at least 7 years per store policies.
• Conversation messages: Deleted after immediate processing, no persistent storage.

5. Children's Privacy

Lingua is intended for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

Users in the European Union have rights under GDPR (Articles 15-22):

• Access — request a copy of your data
• Rectification — request correction
• Erasure ("right to be forgotten")
• Data portability
• Object to processing

7. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS encrypted channels. The on-device SQLite database is protected by standard OS-level access controls. No system is 100% secure but we apply industry-standard security practices.

8. Changes to This Policy

For material changes we will notify you in-app or via email. The effective date above is updated.
